Victor Wembanyama delivered a historic performance in the San Antonio Spurs’ Game 3 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, posting 39 points, 15 rebounds, and five blocks while shooting 13-for-18 from the field.
The French star dominated the paint on both ends of the floor, and the Spurs significantly outplayed the Timberwolves whenever he was on the court.
“It’s the feeling I get before games, I dunno, this excitement, this heat in my heart,” Wembanyama said after the win. “It just gets stronger and stronger as the game goes on. I’m built for this. I love this more than anything else.”
According to ESPN, Wembanyama became just the fourth player in NBA history—since blocks became an official statistic—to record at least 35 points, 15 rebounds, and five blocks in a playoff game, joining Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
