Real Betis defender Natan is a serious doubt for tomorrow’s match against Elche after he was unable to train with the squad in the final session before the game at La Cartuja. The Brazilian missed out on the starting eleven during the last match against Real Sociedad due to muscle discomfort, and his condition has not improved sufficiently.
While Natan sat out the training session, there were two positive developments for manager Manuel Pellegrini. Both Diego Llorente and Ricardo Rodríguez trained normally with their teammates, easing concerns over defensive options. Llorente, who took a knock during the game but played the full 90 minutes, and Rodríguez, who was substituted 20 minutes from the end against Real Sociedad, are expected to be available.
The only negative news came from Natan. The left-footed centre-back was an unexpected omission from the squad on Saturday after feeling discomfort during the warm-up. Pellegrini will confirm in his pre-match press conference at 12:30 PM whether Natan will be included in the matchday squad.
With Bartra and Ortiz both ruled out through injury, and Ruibal suspended due to yellow card accumulation, Betis are stretched at the back. To fill the gaps, Pellegrini called up academy players Masqué, De Roa, and Rafa Oya for Monday’s training session.
