HARBIN, May 4 (China News Service) — The third China-Hungary Youth International Rubik’s Cube Open Harbin leg concluded here on Wednesday, bringing together 155 competitors across six categories in a vibrant display of intellectual skill and international camaraderie. Supported by the Embassy of Hungary in China and the Liszt Institute – Hungarian Cultural Center (Beijing), and organized by the Nangang District Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, the event used the Rubik’s Cube as a bridge to foster friendly exchanges among young people from both countries.
Competitors, ranging across different age groups and categories, demonstrated remarkable concentration and dexterity, swiftly solving the cubes in a test of logic, spatial awareness, and hand-eye coordination. The top performers in each category earned spots in the national finals.
The Rubik’s Cube has evolved into a popular mind sport with widespread appeal in schools, communities, and homes. By hosting this international competition in Harbin, the event not only highlighted the growing popularity of the puzzle but also deepened cultural understanding between Chinese and Hungarian youth, injecting fresh vitality into the local cultural and sports tourism integration.
