Ukrainian defender Alexander Zinchenko will leave Ajax after the current season, as reported by Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad.
According to the source, Ajax’s technical director Jordi Cruyff is planning a major squad overhaul, with around 15 players expected to depart this summer. The club aims to free up spots in the squad and increase the transfer budget for reinforcements.
Among the players leaving the club are Zinchenko and Czech goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros. While Jaros was on loan from Liverpool, Zinchenko’s contract with Ajax runs until the summer of 2026, after which he would become a free agent, and the club will not renew it.
Zinchenko joined Ajax from Arsenal in the winter of 2026 but has only played two matches. In February, he suffered a serious injury in a game against Fortuna Sittard and will be sidelined for about six to seven months.
